Our approach leverages a few key fundamental concepts to improve the body biomechanics: Contrology/Pilates, Functional Anatomy, and Neuroplasticity. Seeks to facilitate the fundamentals of Contrology/Pilates Method in conjunction with functional anatomy and neuroplasticity concepts to make it applicable to body biomechanics of individual clients. Our team creates and delivers individual customized programming for clients with physical limitations and restrictions, medical and orthopedic conditions, neurological disorders, sport injury conditions, athletic performance and fitness goals.

About Brikena

Brikena Sadiku was a professional athlete/track runner in her home country of Albania. Like many athletes, she experienced various sports injuries which resulted in chronic pain. As a means to address her injuries, Brikena decided to pursue a career in health care and fitness. Brikena trained as a Medical Assistant/Technician, which she combined with training in Health Care Management and Administration. For 20 Years, Brikena was an associate with John S. Artandi MD, a Physiatrist/Doctor of Physical Therapy at Advanced Orthopedic Rehabilitation PC (NY Midtown Orthopedics clinic) and Rehabilitation Management Inc. until Dr. Artandi retired and closed his practice in early 2020.

Brikena gained extensive experience in treating a multitude of medical and orthopedic conditions, such as sport injuries, pre/post-surgery rehabilitation, knee and hip replacements, and injury prevention, while also extending her treatments to the Pilates Method, which Brikena spearheaded. Brikena is fully certified and she completed her comprehensive Teacher Training Education with Master Trainer Michael Scott Birro on Mat, Reformer, Springboard, Trapeze Table/Cadillac, Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, Magic Ring, Special Population and workshops on TRX, Functional Standing Movement and Trigger Point. She also obtained her specialization with Meghann Koppele Duffy, the founder of Neuro Studio on Pilates for Neurological Disorders, such as Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, and Brain Injury. She is a member of Pilates Method Alliance and the Neuro Studio and currently working on her Pre/Post Natal coaching certification through Girls Gone Strong.
